Jeff Bezos is putting rumors to rest and telling fans not to fall for sensational stories.
The Amazon founder has denied reports claiming that he is set to marry his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, in an extravagant $600 million wedding in Aspen, Colorado, next weekend.
“This entire story is completely false—none of it is happening,” Bezos wrote on social media platform X on Sunday.
A tweet from Bezos clarified the situation: “The old saying ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more relevant now than ever.
Lies can travel the globe before the truth even gets out the door,” he added. “Be cautious, and don’t be gullible.”
The denial comes after a report by Daily Mail on Saturday that suggested Bezos, 60, and Sánchez, 55, were planning to exchange vows at an opulent Christmas wedding in Colorado.
According to the outlet, the wedding would be held at Kevin Costner’s sprawling 160-acre ranch in Aspen, a high-end ski town known for its celebrity clientele.
A so-called “well-placed source” allegedly shared with Daily Mail that the estimated cost for the nuptials was an eye-popping $600 million.
The report detailed a grand celebration, including a mountaintop ceremony, with private mansions rented around Aspen for their guests.
The couple, who have been engaged since May 2023, reportedly planned to make the wedding an extravagant affair.
They allegedly booked Matsuhisa, a luxury sushi restaurant in Aspen, for either December 26 or 27.
According to the Daily Mail report, the couple had arranged for multiple private venues to host their guests throughout the weekend, ensuring that their special event would be a true spectacle.

But despite the details provided by the source, Bezos strongly rebuffed the claims, advising his followers to not take such rumors seriously.
The tech mogul and the former entertainment reporter have been together since 2018, though their relationship was kept private until after Bezos’ divorce from MacKenzie Scott was finalized in 2019.
Bezos proposed to Sánchez in May 2023 with an extravagant 20-carat diamond ring, a gesture that caught the attention of the media. The ring, according to jewelry experts, is valued at around $2.5 million.
The couple’s relationship has been high-profile ever since, with Sánchez regularly appearing alongside Bezos at public events, including the 2024 Met Gala and other celebrity soirées.
The two have been inseparable in the years since they began dating, with their bond growing even stronger in the wake of their engagement.
While rumors of a lavish wedding swirled earlier this year, Bezos and Sánchez have mostly remained private about their wedding plans.
Just last month, Page Six reported that the couple was spotted together in Miami, where they were seen enjoying a quiet dinner at a restaurant before heading to the beach for a romantic stroll.
The pair’s penchant for low-key moments has become part of their charm, which contrasts with the extravagant lifestyle they also embrace.
Despite the heavy speculation and media frenzy surrounding the potential wedding, Bezos and Sánchez continue to keep their plans under wraps.
While they are frequently seen attending high-profile events and traveling the world together, they have opted to avoid publicly discussing the details of their nuptials, leaving much to the imagination.
Interestingly, the wedding rumors have only seemed to grow louder in recent months. As the holiday season approaches, the idea of a Christmas wedding in Aspen became an enticing possibility for fans and media alike.
But with Bezos’ swift dismissal of the rumors, it’s clear that the much-anticipated event will not be happening as reported.
Sánchez, a former entertainment reporter turned entrepreneur, has been by Bezos’ side as he continues to build his business empire.
In addition to her role in the public eye, Sánchez is also known for her various philanthropic efforts and work as a producer in the entertainment industry.
As for Bezos, he has kept his focus on his ventures, from Blue Origin to his investment in The Washington Post.
The billionaire has remained a major figure in the tech world, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Although the rumored wedding in Aspen may be off the table, it’s clear that Bezos and Sánchez have a shared vision for their future.
Their relationship, which has blossomed since their first meeting in 2018, has sparked interest due to their high-profile nature, and it seems that their journey together is far from over.
As for the elaborate wedding speculations? They remain nothing more than that—a speculative story with little truth behind it. Bezos’ advice to his followers: “Don’t believe everything you read.”
